New Mom, New Gig

Spring 2013 Special Issue

Seattle’s Child magazine is one of those publications that blessedly continues to offer a print issue in addition to it’s incredibly useful and well-organized online publication. As “the trusted guide for families to fun things to do with kids, finding a preschool, travel, birthdays, camps, classes, and support in the Seattle region since 1979,” our family can usually be found with a copy in the car for quick inspiration and interesting year-round reading.

In spring 2013 I was invited by Cheryl Murfin, my amazing doula and the longtime editor of the magazine to contribute two pieces to the special issue “A New Arrival: A Guide for New Parents.” As a new parent, I felt especially privileged to dive deeper into what was then the new world of helpful phone apps for parents, and to share a new local program that centers postpartum healing.
